In a retail and wholesale trade role you will work in either the front of the store helping customers or behind the scenes ensuring the smooth operations of the organisation you are working for. Regardless of whether you have direct contact with customers or not in these roles, it is important that you have a strong desire to help and get the job done. Positions that will be on offer are Sales and Shop Assistants, Stock Fillers, Order Pickers and Customer Service Roles. Do you know your local area well? A role as a courier or postal delivery person could see you utilise your skills in this type of role. Or if you prefer to work indoors a storeperson or mail sorter role may appeal to you. You must be able to meet deadlines to ensure packages are dispatched and delivered on time. Whatever you are interested in, these industries offer different working environments and flexibility of day and night shifts in some roles.
   
Construction Landcare
With a role in construction you can enjoy working with your hands outdoors – enjoying the great weather that Queensland offers. You need to be hard working with a desire to succeed as most projects are working to tight time frames. Do you enjoy helping others? A healthcare and social assistance role is very rewarding, usually seeing first hand the appreciation from the people that you are helping and caring for. Examples of roles in this industry are; In home assistance to people in need, Food Preparation, Laundry Services, Cleaners and Personal Carers in retirement homes and aged care facilities. In an Administration, support or safety role you will work in an office environment, typically between the hours or nine to five, Monday to Friday. Your tasks may include filing, answering calls, arranging meetings, writing notes and action lists, mail/post responsibility. You will be expected to have a medium to high level of computer and organisation skills.
   
Manufacturing Mining
In this industry you need a good eye for detail, be reliable and hardworking. Some roles have the option to offer you day or night shifts. Roles you will be considered for in this industry will range from Machine Operators, Assembly Line Workers, Process Workers, Store Person and Warehouse Picker/Filler. Roles in the mining industry are usually in remote communities in open cut or underground mines. Skills or qualifications required include forklift and heavy truck licenses, basic computer knowledge, ability to follow instructions as safety in this industry is paramount. As some of these roles can be quite physical a reasonable level of fitness is required. Roles on offer could be Processor, Yard Person, Machine Operator to name a few. In a role in Accommodation and Food Services you are working in the Hospitality Industry. This Industry requires you to want to work in a team environment, have excellent customer service skills and good presentation. Generally speaking there are no set hours when working in the hospitality industry and flexibility regarding your availability is usually required.
