About the role:

Our client is seeking a Program Support Officer (Finance) for their busy office in Bundaberg. This is a temporary contract of 5 months with a possible extension, with an immediate start.

Roles and Responsibilities:

  • Interpret and apply financial policies and procedures e.g. chart of accounts, financial planning, taxation
  • Provide basic financial advice for example, taxation – FBT, entertainment expenses etc
  • Use a variety of generic software packages to prepare financial documentation e.g. journals, good receipts, and reconciliations
  • Assist with cost centre reporting to ensure accurate tracking, and to indicate the overall financial position and provide early warnings of deviations
  • Providing high level administrative support to managers and team members, including preparing documentation, establish and maintain spreadsheets and registers and provide timely information and updates.
  • Ensure operational practices and standards of service and performance comply with departmental and regional policies, legislation (incl. WH&S), and governance obligations.
Skills and Experience:
  • Written and verbal communication skills
  • Be well presented
  • Mature attitude to work within the team as a team player
  • High level of administration skills
  • Hold a positive attitude and have great time management skills

This role has no mandatory qualifications, however, candidates who have a background in financial or accounting roles will be well regarded.
