Accounts Payable Officer

IPA have partnered with a packaging company, that have been partnering with clients across the Food Retail and Entertainment sectors, specialising in printing packaging & related products. Our client is looking for an Accounts Payable Officer to join the finance team on a temporary basis, working 3 days a week (Monday, Wednesday, Friday) from 9am – 5pm. The client is based in Mentone, and this role would require you to work in the office. There is lots of parking onsite. The hourly rate for this position is $35 + Super. per hour.

Reporting into the Finance Manager, you will be responsible for the provision of timely and accurate accounts payable and administrative services.

Some of your duties and responsibilities will be:

  • Ensure accurate and timely processing of supplier’s invoices
  • Processing weekly supplier invoices
  • Liaise with purchasing and warehouse to ensure correct pricing
  • Efficiently manage supplier accounts
  • Support the assistant accountant with activities associated with the payment cycle

To be successful in this role you will have proven experience as an Accounts Payable Officer, and ideally have an accounting degree, but this not essential. High attention to detail and accuracy with data entry is a must, and you will have strong communication skills both verbal and written. You must be self-motivated, analytical and a great problem solver. You must be able to work in independently and be able to work under pressure. You must have proficient skills in all Microsoft office products and if you have PRONTO experience this would be an advantage but not essential.
