Administration Officer – Identified Role

This is an Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Identified role. Under section 25 of the Anti-Discrimination Act 1991 (QLD), it is a genuine occupational requirement for the incumbent to be an Aboriginal person and/or Torres Strait Islander person. About Our Client:

The position will be Full-time, Permanent.
The hours will be Monday to Thursday 8:30 am to 5:00 pm, Friday 8:30 am to 4:00 pm.
Included in the salary package is 4 weeks of standard annual leave plus 1 week gifted between Christmas and New Year.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage incoming communications and mail distribution
  • Coordinate reception and greet visitors
  • Provide administrative assistance to the service delivery team
  • Assist in organising meetings and events
  • Maintain office supplies and equipment
  • Support vehicle servicing and maintenance
  • Assist in financial processing, including invoices and credit card reconciliation
  • Manage office calendar and general office upkeep
  • Coordinate new starter onboarding and office equipment setup
  • Liaise with external suppliers
  • Perform other related duties

While demonstrated strong administration experience would be advantageous, it is not essential to

Skills and Experience:

  • Strong administrative and organisational skills
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Capability to work independently with minimal supervision
  • Ability to manage competing priorities with attention to detail
  • Flexibility and adaptability with a willingness to take on diverse tasks
  • Proficient in Microsoft Word, Outlook, Excel, and PowerPoint (min. 60 WPM, 98% accuracy)
  • Demonstrated ability to apply confidentiality, discretion, and initiative
  • Culturally sensitive with an understanding of Indigenous community issues

Requirements:

  • Current QLD Drivers Licence
  • Blue Card (Or willingness to get if successful)
  • National Police Check (Or willingness to get if successful)
  • COVID Vaccinated (digital certificate required, at least 2 vaccinations)
