Case Management Officer – Identified Role

This is an Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Identified role. Under section 25 of the Anti-Discrimination Act 1991 (QLD), it is a genuine occupational requirement for the incumbent to be an Aboriginal person and/or Torres Strait Islander person. IPA are looking for a Case Management Officer for our Rockhampton client.

The position will be Full-time, Permanent.

The hours will be Monday to Thursday 8:30 am to 5:00 pm, Friday 8:30 am to 4:00 pm.

Included in the salary package is 4 weeks of standard annual leave plus 1 week gifted between Christmas and New Year

This position does require travel within the Rockhampton region, mostly day trips. With some occasional overnight stays.

About Our Client:

Our clients’ business is dedicated to supporting Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples affected by family violence and sexual assault. Their mission is to provide culturally sensitive legal services, support, and community education programs.

As a Case Management Officer, you will work collaboratively with the legal service delivery team to support legal and non-legal outcomes. Your role will involve building the capacity of individuals and communities, empowering them to take control of their lives. Using a strength-based/trauma-informed approach, you’ll coordinate and deliver community education programs, outreach initiatives, and holistic support services.

Key Responsibilities:

Administration Functions:

  • Assist legal staff in providing culturally sensitive services.
  • Liaise with clients and Solicitors for casework support, legal documentation, and referrals.
  • Maintain records and files with high confidentiality standards.
  • Network and liaise with community organisations, legal service providers, and government departments.
  • Organise and present community education sessions.

Community Engagement Functions:

  • Attend courts and assist solicitors in obtaining detailed instructions from clients.
  • Provide court support to enhance legal service delivery.
  • Maintain case management standards and records.

Teamwork Functions:

  • Contribute to a collaborative team environment.
  • Attend regular staff meetings and communicate effectively in the workplace.

Essential Requirements:

  • Demonstrative strong administrative experience
  • Awareness of transgenerational trauma, vicarious trauma, and the impact of history on Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander society.
  • Holder of a current open Queensland driver’s licence.
  • Holder of a Working with Children Blue Card or ability to obtain one.
  • Willingness to undertake a National Police Clearance check.
  • Willingness to travel with occasional overnight stays.
