A Government Department, committed to excellence in building and construction projects. With a strong presence in Cairns and occasional travel to Cape York communities, our client is dedicated to delivering high-quality results and making a positive impact in the communities they serve.

Role Overview:

As a Maintenance Supervisor, you will play a pivotal role in managing and coordinating project planning, resources, office staff, field staff, and subcontractors. Your responsibilities will include overseeing regular meetings and forums, ensuring compliance with Workplace Health and Safety (WHS) regulations, and maintaining project timelines and budgets.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage and coordinate project planning and execution.
  • Supervise and allocate resources efficiently.
  • Oversee office staff, field staff, and subcontractors.
  • Conduct regular meetings and forums to ensure effective communication.
  • Ensure compliance with WHS regulations and company policies.
  • Maintain project timelines and budgets.
  • Occasional travel to Cape York communities as required.


  • (desirable but not totally essential) Trade qualification background in building construction.
  • An understanding of estimating costs associated with projects would be beneficial
  • White Card certification.
  • Strong leadership and communication skills.
  • Proven experience in project management and supervision.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities effectively.
  • Commitment to safety and compliance.

Note: Due to our client’s continued growth, we are also seeking expressions of interest from trade qualified carpenters, refrigeration technicians, estimators and electricians for upcoming projects.

Duration: Temporary ongoing role paying $55-60/hour
