THE ROLE

We are seeking a Part time (0.889 FTE), MIDDLE SCHOOL ENGLISH/INDIVIDUAL PROGRAMS TEACHER to join the Berwick Campus for an ongoing role working across 5 days. Commencing ASAP.

Please note that this position requires a current Victorian Institute of Teaching (VIT) registration.

The purpose of the Individual Programs Teacher is to assist in the development of foundation learning skills and encourage students with learning diversity, in a supportive environment, to flourish to their fullest potential.

RESPONSIBILITIES

Include but are not limited to:

  • Teaching English to Middle School students and supporting students with learning diversity in classroom-based intervention groups.
  • Establishing trusting and respectful relationships with students and parents that ultimately supports the student wellbeing.
  • Using diagnostic standardised assessment tools to inform future intervention, planning, and inclusive practice.
  • Communicating with members of the school community in a timely and professional manner: providing an environment that is conducive to learning and encouraging students to become better learners and take responsibility for their Learning Mindset.
  • Supporting the learning outcomes of students through well-designed intervention curriculum, effective inclusive teaching pedagogy and practice and the provision of a safe learning environment.

ABOUT YOU

The successful application must hold (or be in the process of obtaining):

  • A current registration with the Victorian Institute of Teaching (VIT).
  • Further experience, knowledge and/or training in inclusive or special education practices.
  • A current National Police Check, in addition to VIT
  • A current first aid certificate (or a willingness to obtain)
  • Tertiary qualifications in Education
