Landscape Gardening Labourer

IPA here in Cairns is seeking applications from people interested in working in the landscape gardening world.

Our client is a well-established landscaping and garden design company. New projects and a very busy schedule, has seen the birth of a new and ongoing role in their Cairns team. The successful applicant will first be employed by IPA as a temp, and then after the probation period, transfer across to our client as an employee.

Position Overview:

The ideal candidate will be passionate about landscaping, have a strong work ethic, and be capable of operating heavy machinery and trucks safely and efficiently. As a Landscape Gardener, you will work alongside their experienced team to create and maintain beautiful outdoor environments for clients.

Your Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist in the construction and installation of various landscape features (plantings, irrigation systems, and outdoor structures like fences)
  • Transport materials and equipment to job sites and re position items by hand.
  • Regular garden maintenance tasks (pruning, weeding, mulching, and fertilising)
  • Communicate with clients in a professional and courteous manner.
  • Ensure the proper maintenance and care of all landscaping equipment and vehicles, including trucks, tools, and machinery.
  • Adhere to all safety guidelines and regulations
  • Follow environmentally friendly and sustainable landscaping practices.

Qualifications & Experience:

Must haves:

  • Willingness to learn
  • Strong work ethics – you turn up every day and on time
  • Physical fitness and stamina and ability to work in the heat and outdoor environment
  • HR (Heavy Rigid) truck licence

Nice to haves:

  • Hydro Mulching experience
  • Experience in landscaping and garden maintenance
