Payroll Officer

IPA are currently seeking experienced Payroll Officers for a Townsville based Government role, working within a diverse organisation. As the Payroll Officer you will demonstrate strong payroll knowledge and skills and disciplined in maintaining a high standard of practice. You will be committed to your own development and act proactively as well as flexibly without supervision. As the Payroll Officer you will:
  • The timely and accurate processing and validation of end-to-end payroll transactions from appointments to terminations including the review of less complex integrity and highlight reports.
  • To provide other administrative support including data entry, excel and/or word processing for the preparation of letters, reports and other documentation as required.
  • Providing document management support, including filing, retrieving of documents, reports and other records as required.
  • To identify, recommend and participate in continuous improvement initiatives relating to payroll in partnership with various stakeholders.
  • Contributing to the team environment by assisting colleagues and by providing comprehensive advice and guidance to team members.
  • Bringing strong time management skills with the ability to prioritise competing demands and deadlines and when requested, supporting other Service Delivery teams where volumes exceed capacity.
  • To contribute to an accountable, fair and safe work environment embracing human resource management practices including workplace health and safety, employment equity, anti-discrimination and performance management. You will need:
