Payroll Systems Officer

We are looking for a Payroll Systems Officer to join our payroll team and be responsible for playing a pivotal role in the business. You will be responsible for leveraging automation to streamline payroll processes, enhance data accuracy, and ensure the efficient operations of the payroll systems.

Some of your duties and responsibilities will be but are not limited too:

  • Update existing & creating new Pay & Bill Agreements in the Recruitment System Fastrack
  • Update and create new Rate Calculators in accordance with the Modern Awards/Enterprise Agreement and updated oncosts
  • Assist Payroll Manger with EOFY rate increases
  • Assist Payroll Manager with Super increases
  • Attending to payroll and invoicing enquires from temporary employees and clients
  • Reconciliation and reporting on financial data relating to payroll for both candidates and client as required
  • Timely execution of client specific reporting and invoicing systems ensuring all charges are billed accurately and in the correct format as required
  • Ensure all actions related to payroll are in compliance with relevant contract and legislative requirements including ATO guidelines and Superannuation legislation
  • Provide ideas to assist in the improvement to current processes and offer innovative solutions

To be successful in this role, it is critical that you have experience as a Payroll Officer and have proven knowledge of payroll processes and basic accounting practices. Excellent Modern award and EBA interpretation with knowledge of Payroll Tax and legislation is required, as well as some knowledge in Super. Excellent computer skills in Excel is required, and if you have some experience with PowerShell’s this would be an advantage but not essential. If you have experience working in a labour hire organisation this would be desirable.

You will be accustomed to operating in a fast-paced environment and have strong communication, organizational skills, and attention to detail. You must have a high level of accuracy with numbers and be deadline driven with the ability to pick things up quickly. You are a reliable team player who demonstrates a “can-do” positive attitude who is proactive, reliable and shows strong initiative who enjoys working in an inclusive and collaborative working culture.

This role is to start off as a Temp Contract for 6 months with the view of permanency. You will be required to work 5 days a week, Monday to Friday and work 9am – 5pm with the occasional overtime. This role gives you the ability to work 4 days from home and 1 day in the Head Office which is situated in Melbourne CBD. This role is paying $45 – $50 per hour + Super.
