Pre Sales Engineer

About the Role:

This role is the conduit between sales and the engineering team, lending technical expertise to the sales process. You will be the go to for all things pre sales and post sales support, ensuring smooth on-boarding and delivery with little to no impact on the clients business. Reporting into the operations manager you will take a lead role in creating technical presentations as well as responding to tenders. You will have access to internal resources to make sure you’re in the best position to help clients with access to the head of sales and the engineering team/solutions architects.

Responsibilities:
  • Attend client meetings to collect information on requirements and be the technical voice in the room
  • Build relationships with external stakeholders while developing a clear understanding of the clients current needs and requirements
  • Work with and develop an understanding of the companies technology partners
  • Build relationships with internal stakeholders across the business to enable to support the sales process from initial pre sales through to post sales support
  • Work with solutions architects internally, communicating client requirements and develop solutions
  • Present solutions to the client while consulting on best fit technology solutions and services
  • Take part in executing proof of concepts
  • Build project timelines, costs and skill requirements
  • Partner with marketing to develop technical content
Requirements:
  • Experience working in a similar position with a strong technical background in either Sales or Engineering
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills with an ability to address both technical and non-technical stakeholders
  • Experience creating technical documents, solution guides, whitepapers, etc..
  • Broad knowledge of products and solutions, Cisco, Aruba, F5, MIST, Juniper, etc..
  • This isn’t a business development role however you will be involved in the sales process so ideally we’re looking for someone with a bit of sales flair
  • Exposure to project management and business analysis would be beneficial
