We are seeking a dynamic and motivated individual to join our client in Emerald as a Ranger on a temporary basis. As a Ranger, you will play a crucial role in monitoring and undertaking animal management responsibilities, ensuring compliance with legislation and local laws. This position also involves community education on responsible pet ownership and providing support to Rural Land Services as needed.

The successful applicant will be employed by IPA on a labour hire basis for the duration of the role. An attractive pay rate is on offer, which will be discussed at the interview.

The role offers full time hours Monday to Friday with a 9 day fortnight available.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Service delivery in accordance with legislation and policies.
  • Technical skills in local government ranger services (animal control, local laws).
  • Collaborative teamwork across the organization.
  • Information delivery through high standard reports and correspondence.
  • Maintenance of pound facilities and other duties as directed.


  • Experience in investigating breaches to local laws and statutory provisions.
  • Animal handling, cleaning, and maintaining the animal management facility.
  • Recording and reporting incidents, issuing infringement notices.
  • Minimum Queensland C class provisional driver’s licence.

  • Willingness to undertake training for relevant disciplines.
  • Training for permits/approvals (ACDC unrestricted license, 1080 operators’ license, Firearms license & First Aid).


  • First Aid, firearms handling, and safety.
  • Investigating breaches, issuing fines, and court appearances.
