Senior Procurement

I currently have 2 Senior Procurement positions, for a well- know State Government Department, based in the CBD.

Procurement Lead

Mid – Jan start for 9 month assignment.


Role: The procurement lead will be looking after 2 procurement’s.

The Procurement Lead will be responsible for:
* Managing and develop the suite of procurement documents including: the sourcing plan, invitation to supply (ITS) evaluation, conflict of interest requirements, contract management plans, benefits realisation and including the transition in and out plan.
* End-to-end procurement management: manage the entire procurement process with guidance and direction from the departments Corporate Procurement Branch. Ensure the service provided meets deadline, budgets and compliance requirements.
* Stakeholder engagement and reporting.
* Contract and Data management: Document and maintain accurate procurement and contract information.
* Data Migration: Some data migration is required for the TWA system.
* Stakeholder engagement: Ensure key stakeholder relationships are maintained, develop a working group internally and undertake research with external departments where appropriate.
* Governance: Provided expert advice, reporting, briefings and correspondence to Department including presenting at governance committees.
* Communication and Change management: deliver a communication and change management plan.
* Embedding the system into BAU: handover to Planning & Strategy and Risk team for the system as part of BAU.

Qualifications/Techincal Expertise:
  • Demonstrated experience and knowledge of procurement, purchasing and contract management processes with at least 5 years relevant experience, including conducting end to end procurement processes.
  • Demonstrated capacity to understand and apply departmental and Victorian Government Purchasing Board policies, procedures and guidelines.
  • Demonstrated writing skills and attention to detail in preparing and reviewing Secretarial and Ministerial briefs.
  • Proficiency with use of Microsoft software applications

Senior Procurement and Project Officer

Early Jan start – 3-month Assignment

Role: The Senior Procurement and Project Officer will work closely and collaboratively across the Department, and with external stakeholders as required, to: develop fit-for-purpose procurement strategies; prepare documentation, contracts and market approaches to ensure high-quality and successful engagements; liaise with, and foster strong relationships with, the Department’s Procurement, Financial Services and Legal Divisions; lead the development, implementation and ongoing management of a wide range of significant commercial relationships; and project manage contractual deliverables.


The successful candidate will be expected to have demonstrated experience in procurement, including project management of major procurement activities. They will also have sound communication skills to be able to negotiate and influence key internal and external stakeholders to achieve positive outcomes and support the effective delivery of procurement services.
