Senior Tax Manager

THE COMPANY

Established for over 40 years, our client is a well established Financial Advisory Firm who specialise in Accounting, Financial Planning and Lending who are located across both Dandenong and Blackburn (role can be based at either sites).

THE ROLE

They are looking for an experienced Senior Tax Manager to join their team of x 15 and contribute to the efficient servicing of their existing client base. They offer a relaxed work environment with the option for flexible work hours (WFH x1 day per week). You will maintain a portfolio of clients from a mix of various industries. It is also a supervisory role with 4-5 direct reports to coach and mentor.

Core Responsibilities:

  • Manage a portfolio of clients, overseeing tasks with support from the accounting team.
  • Provide consulting and advisory services to existing clients, contributing to the growth of the client portfolio.
  • Review tax returns and financial reports prepared by the team, offering constructive feedback.
  • Handle taxation consulting and compliance, business services consulting, and preparation of financial statements.
  • Manage BAS & IAS preparation, monthly & quarterly reporting, and advise on various financial matters.
  • Assist with business formation and structures, providing financial and taxation advice.
  • Advise on transactions such as business purchase/sale, mergers & acquisitions, capital financing, and taxation issues.
  • Examine and advise on clients’ operating costs, income, and expenditure.
REQUIREMENTS

  • Degree qualificatiION
  • Completed CA/CPA (or currently completing);
  • Minimum 5 -10 years relevant Tax experience in a public practice;
  • Experience with the ATO Tax Agent Portal;
  • Outstanding verbal communications skills;
  • Excellent written business communication and reporting skills;
  • Demonstrated experience, ability and willingness to build and maintain strong working relationships – both externally and internally;
  • Intermediate-to-advanced Xero and Microsoft Office Suite skills, in particular Excel
  • Strong problem solving and critical thinking skills;
  • High level of attention to detail.
